Peonies are one of the most requested and most photographed flowers in the world — and one of the shortest-lived in season. Peak peony season runs roughly late April through June, with the exact window depending on the variety and growing region. Allen's Flowers & Plants sources peonies from California and Pacific Northwest growers throughout the season and designs peony-forward arrangements, peony bouquets, and peony-inclusive mixed designs at our Linda Vista studio.

About peonies: Peonies are lush, full-petaled blooms available in a spectrum of pink, white, coral, red, and occasionally yellow. A single peony bloom can be four to six inches across when fully open. They symbolize romance, prosperity, and good fortune in many cultures, and are one of the most popular wedding flowers of the modern era. Fresh-cut peonies typically have a vase life of 5-7 days with proper care, and they open dramatically over their first few days (it's worth the wait — peonies in full bloom are extraordinary).

If your date is outside peony season, please call us at 800.460.5501 to discuss options — there are a few sources for off-season peonies, but availability and pricing vary significantly. We strongly recommend pre-ordering peonies for weddings at least 4-6 weeks in advance to guarantee the specific varieties and colors you want.
